Dwell with Dignity Kicks Off 13th Year

Though it seems to be a blur, 2022 is here and has hit the ground running! Looking back over the past year, I am continually in awe of the support and generosity we have received from you to continue our essential work to transform lives through design. From a record breaking Thrift Studio, to family home installations and community partner transformations, you have been our backbone every step of the way, showing up to shop, volunteer, and bring hope to those who need it most. This next year our goals are loftier than ever as we aim to serve more families and bring our life changing design to more diverse communities. I look forward to you joining us as we keep growing, innovating, and serving the community through love, respect, and design.

Watch the Latest Family Home Reveal

Earlier this month, Dwell with Dignity completed one of our largest family homes to date! Watch as this family of 6 comes home to their newly transformed abode.

Our volunteers showed up in droves to help out with this 6-bedroom home transformation. One of our largest projects yet almost wasn’t completed in time due to February’s freeze at the beginning of the month. But thanks to our helpful volunteers, we were able to meet the weather-shortened deadline, completing 3 days of work in just 1.5 days! 👏

DwD + Habitat for Humanity

The benefits of a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Dwell with Dignity are a natural collaboration. Habitat provides the financial literacy, the encouragement, the tools, the equity and support throughout the entire building process for the house. Dwell with Dignity turns their house into a home by meeting with the family to truly understand their story, the functionality of the space, and the colors that make them happy. The DwD team loves when families say “this is what I would have done.”

Joli Robinson shares “I am tremendously grateful for the friendship and partnership of Dwell with Dignity. Their mission has allowed them to show up for new homeowners through their partnership with Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity in ways that truly turns someone’s house into a home. I remember our initial meeting while I was still at Habitat that allowed us to dream about the potential of the partnership and to continue to see that relationship flourish has been heartwarming. I am grateful for the team at Dwell with Dignity and continue to lean on their knowledge, expertise, and service.”

Dwell with Dignity partnered with Habitat for Humanity to transform two homes in 2021. We look forward to continuing this partnership in 2022 and beyond.

DwD + The Net

Part of the DwD team traveled to Fort Worth to visit our first Tarrant County partner, The Net. The Net addresses sex trafficking and exploitation and supports survivors. To date they’ve served over 1,000 survivors of trafficking, engaged with more than 12,000 men attempting to purchase sex, and provided dignified employment to 13 survivors. All of these programs exist because everyone is worthy of the chance to rebuild their lives.

The Worthy Co. is The Net’s non-profit social enterprise. Its mission is to employ and empower women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction as they improve their own lives by learning vocational skills, gaining work experience, and earning real income.

These women produce hand-made products available for purchase in their online store. Check out their hard work and support them since as a 501(c)3 100% of the proceeds go directly back into sustaining the program.
